Indie Authors Spotlight (#7)

*Personal note - I will be doing my Indie Author Spotlight post every other week instead of weekly for the time being.*

Welcome to Indie Author Spotlight! This is a weekly meme that will be held on every SATURDAY in the month. It is hosted by Beckie @ Bittersweet Enchantment & CYP @ A Bookalicious StoryThe idea of this meme is to promote indie authors and to help them and their books to get recognize. This will be a great way for book bloggers to take part in helping these authors be spotlighted for all their hard work. If you would like to participate with us please check out this page:

AUTHORS: Wanna Be spotlighted? Then I encourage you to click the link above as well and read the section at the bottom for more information.

This week in the Indie Author Spotlight is...

About JD. Field
(sorry no author pic)
I love travelling (especially in Eastern Europe, Ukraine and Romania). I believe that Dawsons Creek is deeply underated. If it was allowed I would eat bacon three times a day. I like to invent silly dances and embarrass my friends. Basketball is good, as are whales. The Levels Series sprung out of my love for old myths and legends, boarding school stories, the Somerset countryside and superheroes. I wanted to write about them all at once, so I did. Now I'm just constantly frustrated that it's taking me so long to get the sequels out. Don't worry, though, they are coming. About twelve of them... If any of this needs clarification, please ask.

Song to wake to

Sixteen-year-old Maddy Bride starts at a new school in the countryside. She knows she’ll have to deal with sports obsessed rich kids, cliques, and pressure. She doesn’t expect myths from the shadowy past to be taking place around her. Not only are the legends unfinished. They’re starting all over again.
Her new classmate, Eddy Moon, is awkward, and shy, and has lived a life of hardship and loneliness. As his strength and sense of purpose become more and more striking, Maddy comes to believe that he may have a place in the stories. At the same time she realises that the place she wants is by his side.
Closeness to Eddy brings Maddy another shocking realisation. Not only is he a mythic hero returned to life in the countryside, but maybe she too has a place in the legends. Torn between normality and her attraction to the magnificent Eddy Moon, Maddy has to decide who she is, who she is going to be, and whether stories must end the same way twice.

Daphne and The Mysterious Girls Secret Bathroom Society

Following years of persecution at the hands of Vivica Vance, Daphne Downing levels the playing field wielding her No. 2 Ticonderoga pencil as she belatedly enters the world of witchcraft. Daphne becomes part of the Mysterious Girls’ Secret Bathroom Society and finds out that the politics governing witchcraft are daunting and sometimes deadly. She realizes she is aligned with the Charmers in this political battle with the Spiters led by her nemesis, Vivica. Along the way, she discovers that witches do not perform magic or witchcraft but a differentiated form of physics that only some women have mastered. The story deepens as she learns about the long history of witches’ domination and annihilation of wizards.
