Hello everyone! Today is the Blood Jewel Release Day Tour. As a host on this tour I am going to share with each of you info on the book as well as a interview with Author, Georgia Cates. Blood Jewel is the second book in the The Vampire Agápe series and will be available to buy today, May 31st. Enjoy the post and be sure to enter to win a free copy of this amazing new novel.

Blood Jewel by Georgia Cates
The Vampire Agápe Book #2
With the mystery of Chansey Leclaire and Curry Brennan’s connection solved, they are free to explore their newfound love for one another. Or so they thought...

When Marsala uses a witch and black magic to discover Curry’s whereabouts, he and Chansey are left with no choice. The newly engaged couple is forced to relocate away from their families at the new compound in Savannah, which causes some major changes in the plans for their upcoming wedding.

Relocating to Savannah might have saved Curry and Chansey from being discovered by Marsala, but it doesn’t stop her attempts to reach Curry or her efforts to harm Chansey through the use of black magic. As Marsala closes in, Curry faces the decision he never wanted to make. Will he keep Chansey human or condemn her to eternity as the thing he hates most?

As Curry waits for his hand to be forced, a newly turned vampire arrives at the Savannah compound in need of help. Not only is she a fledgeling in transition, she brings reports of escaping from a vampire cult still in possession of her sister, a human. Any attempt to save the captive human from a cult of vampires puts everyone in jeopardy. Can they risk entering a large cult to save one human being? And is so, how could they possibly do it successfully?

Love will grow. New mysteries will arise. A battle will ensue. A Blood Jewel will be found.

The Vampire Agápe Book #1
I was tantalized by the mystery of her. The leech inside me came out to find prey, but found none in this enigmatic girl. The close proximity of her essence didn’t entice the monster within, so what did that make her? I had more questions than answers, but one thing was unmistakable; although she released me from her embrace, her hold on me remained.
Cruel circumstances turned Curry Brennan into the wretched monster he hates and refuses to accept, but when an expected turn of events releases him from the bond of his obsessive maker, he returns to the home he knew 161 years earlier and finds the return of happiness and joy in something he didn’t know existed. Puzzled by his growing attraction to Chansey Leclaire, a human, he is unable to resist the captivating relationship that threatens to reveal his existence as a vampire. He eventually discovers the reason he was destined to find what he didn’t know he searched for and is faced with the cruel realization that the living and the immortal undead will always be separated by one thing. Eternity.

Book Blog Tour: Tallis by M.C. Rae [ Promo and Giveaway! ]

Hi everyone! ^__^ Welcome to my stop of the Tallis Book Blog Tour hosted by YA Bound Tours. Today I will be sharing with my wonderful readers a promo post that gives some great info about the book, Tallis by author M.C. Rae. The book is a YA Fantasy and a short read published in April 2012 by Tulipe Noire Press. I am very excited to be able to share with you all info on the book and at the end of my post you have a chance to win a free copy! Enjoy!

The Empire of Andresium is threatened by the corruption of the immortals, ancient beings given the gift of eternal life after the death of the last reigning empress. A prophecy speaks of their eventual downfall at the hands of one of their own, however. Tallis is known by most simply as "The Loren," and seeks to avoid her destiny while trying herself to remain untainted by the decaying morals and indifference to the fates of men that plague her kind. As the events of the prophecy begin to unfold, Tallis finds herself conflicted between upholding her dedication to justice, and falling victim to the ramifications of following the desires of her own heart.

“Sometimes I wish she would have taken the crown back then, if for no other purpose then to order this hideous blight removed.”

Lenu’s words made her gasp. She had not heard him approach. Suddenly, she understood the appeal of this location for their conspiratorial confab. The fountain’s cascade provided a layer of sound that would cover whispers. The distaste the others had for the gaudy figurine keeping aquatic vigil would help ensure that no one stumbled upon them.

“I suggested it to her once. Tallis said that knowing it remained standing reminded her that her past is not so easily erased. Secretly, I think she sneaks back here, now and again, though she’d never admit it.” Juno drew close to Lenu. “Is what they’re saying true, Lenu?”

Her question did not fall upon befuddled ears. He knew precisely to which she referred. “I cannot say for certain. Most believe it’s true.” Her focus turned on the Cove’s headmaster, who was filled with anxiety.

       “Do you?”

        He nodded.

Juno’s voice quivered as much as her hand. “If indeed she’s promised herself to the mortal, then perhaps she’s not learned as much from her past as she thinks. He will not be pleased.”

“I don’t believe Shahlamin gives a damn.” Lenu crossed his arms over his chest as they both stared into the fountain. “A mortal wizard, even one as talented as Tarameen, poses no threat to him. He owns Tallis’s soul. What does he care who has her heart?”

Book Review: Revived by Cat Patrick

Title: Revived
Author: Cat Patrick
Number of Pages: 336
Published: May 8th 2012 by Little, Brown Books
Source: Library
Genre: Sci-Fi
Reading Level: YA
Star Rating: ★★★
Goodreads | Purchase

As a little girl, Daisy Appleby was killed in a school bus crash. Moments after the accident, she was brought back to life.
A secret government agency has developed a drug called Revive that can bring people back from the dead, and Daisy Appleby, a test subject, has been Revived five times in fifteen years. Daisy takes extraordinary risks, knowing that she can beat death, but each new death also means a new name, a new city, and a new life. When she meets Matt McKean, Daisy begins to question the moral implications of Revive, and as she discovers the agency’s true goals, she realizes she’s at the center of something much larger—and more sinister—than she ever imagined.

First Impressions:  I was super excited when I first saw that Cat Patrick had put out another novel. I just adored Forgotten when I read it last year and feel in love with the authors writing style and how the stories she creates just suck you in and wont let you stop reading until the very end. So once I found out that Cat had come out with a new book I was very happy. I could not wait to drive in and read Revived. I was going into reading the book with very high expectations since I loved her first novel and WOW, this one just blew me away right from the first page! Oh, and look at the cover! I mean isn't it just so awesome and just the way she peaks through what looks like a thin blue membrane wondering what's on the other side.

My Review: Revived was a super fast read for me and not because it was short or the pace was fast but simply because the story itself TOTALLY ROCKED! I love to read, plain and simple but a book like this makes me see all over again why I love to read so much. Revived is one of those books where once you get done with it you feel the urge to read it again, yes it is that good! Everything about it was so sublime. The unique story-line, the evolved character's, the mystery and the thrill of what will happen next all wrapped up into a sweeeet package!

The main character, Daisy is killed in a bus crash on a icy road when she was young and died. She was brought back to life by an experimental drug called Revived and since then has died four more times since she first was brought back. A "hush hush" government agency makes and supplies the drug to the kids who died in the crash, thus for experimenting with the drug so to one day release it to the public for sale. After dying again, Daisy is being made to move to another state with yet another name change. Daisy hopes to stay here and make friends this time.

On the first day of school she meets Audrey who quickly becomes friends with her. Audrey has a brother Matt who Daisy meets the on same day. Audrey and Daisy begin to hang out with each other after school and grows into being best friends. Daisy feels a certain connection with  Audrey and for her brother Matt. As Audrey and Daisy become closer friends and Matt and Daisy begin to develop strong feelings for each other, Daisy finds out a heartbreaking secret about Audrey.  Audrey is very sick and is not expected to live much longer. Daisy is crushed by this news and hopes that maybe the drug Revived would somehow work on her friend so she would not have to die but not all things about the drug are good. Daisy will soon find out that the man behind "Revived" is playing God and has other plans for the drug.

As I feel I have given to much away as it is I will stop but let me tell you this book was simply amazing! The story keep is entertaining and had me immersed throughout the whole book. There was never a dull moment. I absolutely loved Daisy, Matt and Audrey which is rare because I seems I always tend to find one character who I loave. The book moved along in a fast pace and author Cat Patrick always seems to find away to connect to her readers throughout the book. Revived had me crying, laughing and just wanting to read faster and faster to know what would happen next. Everyone should no... NEEDS to run out and get this book! If your like me and loved Forgotten or just loves to read a book that will blow your mind then definitely read Revived!

Final Thoughts: None needed because you can plainly see how much I loved the book. =D

Theme Thursday [FRIEND] #12

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one Thursday to the next. Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursdays)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”
This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors. Theme Thursdays is hosted by Kavyen Reading Between Pages.

This weeks theme is - FRIEND, Buddy, confidant, comrade etc

My THURSDAY THEME for FRIEND is from here:

I've got a best friend and a boyfriend, and it's fine by me that they have the same last name.

[and one more snippet...]

I look over Megan's shoulder: She's on Facebook, trying a witty comment to go with her friend request.

What is your theme Thursday sentence this week?
Does your current read have the word friend in it?
