I left everything I knew behind.

But it was worth it. He was worth it.

No one thought an ordinary girl like me would last two minutes living with the Amish, not even me. There are a lot more rules and a lot less freedom, and I miss my family and the life I once had. Worst of all, Noah and I aren't even allowed to see each other. Not until I've proven myself.

If I can find a way to make it work, we'll be NOAH & ROSE together forever.

But not everybody believes this is where I belong.

The story of Belonging picks up almost directly after the first book, Temptation ended. If you have not read Temptation yet this review may have a few subtle spoilers so please be aware of that before you continue on.

Rose and Noah are hopeless in love. From the moment they meet they somehow knew they were made for each other. Two half's of a perfect whole. There is just one problem that seems to always test their love..... He's Amish and she's not. Rose makes the difficult decision to leave her family and start a new life with Noah living...happily ever after. Eeh, not so much. Although Rose is desperate to see her way in living this new Amish lifestyle, there are so many different thing standing in her way. Her Father does not approve of his only daughter leaving the family to run off and live in this world he just does not understand or that fact that she is only 16 years old minor. The main challenge Rose faces is being accepted my Noah's family and the Amish community alike. She must gain the approval of the elders but most importantly the Bishop himself.

Throughout all of these hardships, Rose still tries her very best to fit in as a Amish and live in this primitive life. But will her love for Noah and his love for her be enough to change the minds of everyone who counts? Will their LOVE stand the true test of time....?  I guess you'll have to read Belonging to find out.

After reading Temptation last year and really falling in love with the book, I could not wait to find out what happens next. Throughout Belonging I keep trying to put myself in Rose's place, seeing through eyes why she choose to change her entire life for the boy she so desperately loves. I so admired Rose for all the hard work she did, and how accepting she was to Noah, his family and the Amish community. There were times I would ask myself.... "If I was Rose would I give up everything for someone I so deeply loved?" I think the readers of this book will end up questioning that very idea as well. The author, Karen Ann Hopkins knows first hand about Amish community living so close to one herself.  I really feel this gives her book such a realism that other Contemporary novels sometimes lack. Also, her writing style is very breezy and easy to read. Now although in the first book I had some minor problems with Noah (found here), and Temptation was a little to insta-love for me. Belonging seems dives deeper into Noah and Rose's relationship and how much they truly do love each other and the lengths they go to be together.

Belonging was as good as I expected it to be, maybe even better and even though I did have a couple things "problems" with the book (slow area's, and how Rose pretty much abandon her family), I feel the readers will fall in love with Noah and Rose all over again.

Totally Awesome! I loved it, would read again.

My Character Interview with Noah.

Q 1: Why Rose? Out of all the young Amish girls in your community, what made you fall in love with her?

In my community, there are at least two dozen girls that are close to my same age. Ever since I was
a small child they’ve been there—always looking the same way and doing the same things. Most
of them seem more like family than potential prospects. Sure, a few are pretty enough and a couple
of the Yoder girls are always smiling, but not one of them has ever caught my eye the way my new
neighbor, Rose Cameron, has. She’s spunky and smart and beautiful to boot—just the kind of girl for
me. The only problem is, she’s an outsider and it’s strictly forbidden for me to court her. I’m not even
allowed to talk to her. Maybe that’s part of the intrigue. She’s completely off-limits. But, during our
secret meetings, I’ve gotten to know her pretty well, and there’s something about her that I can’t quite
put my finger on. It’s as if she’s always been my girl…and always will be.

Q 2:  Tell me a little about being Amish. What is one of the hardest parts of living this lifestyle?

I know many outsiders mock our simple ways and our refusal to use their technology and fancy things.
But I can honestly say that I’m content with my life. Working the horses and tilling the land is in my
blood. I can’t imagine a life without early morning breakfasts and prayer around the table or a day
working with the wind on my face and the sunshine on my back. Sure the suspenders are aggravating
as all get out, and sometimes I struggle to stay awake during the three hour Sunday services, but I
reckon it’s a fair trade in the end. I wouldn’t give up my plain ways for the outsiders’ pickup trucks,
computers and movie screens. The more difficult road is the truer one for me.

Q 3:  From first glance, what was it about Rose that attracted you to her?

Rose’s bright blue eyes sparking fire at her brother got me first off. She was soaking wet and her hair
bounced down her back in a tangled mess when she scraped with Justin. Once I got past the shock
of seeing a girl in such a state, I couldn’t take my eyes off her—even with Father and Jacob standing
nearby. I’d have to say, I was smitten at first sight.

Q 4:  What is your most favorite and the worst family chore you must do?

I jump at the chance to do anything with the horses; grooming, shoeing or simply cleaning a stall is
hardly like work to me at all, but ask me to mow our two acre lawn and I’ll roll my eyes for sure.

Q 5:  If you could change one thing you did or said to Rose during your relationship, what would it be?

I would take back ever accusing Rose that she wanted to take the easy way out by remaining English.
I’ve learned a thing or two since then, but I know better now. Rose doesn’t shy away from anything,
hard work included.

Q 6:  What is your favorite fun activity to do with your family? (since computers, games and such are not allowed)

On warm summer nights, after a long day of baling hay or framing a house, we’ll all gather around
the bonfire pit in the backyard. Mother will have treats on hand, like homemade ice cream in waffle
cones or puffed sugar to roast in the flames. After we’ve filled our bellies, Mother and the girls will
begin singing. My brothers and I don’t ever join in, but we’d be lying if we said we didn’t enjoy listening
to the way their voices blended together. The sound is what I imagine would come from the mouths
of angels. When their songs finally end, Father’s voice booms out in the darkness with all sorts of
interesting stories, some are made up adventures of rebellious boys and the trouble they get in, but in
the end there’s always a lesson to be learned. The smell of the wood-smoke and the laughter in the
night air always puts my spirit at peace.

Q 7:  Is there anything about Rose you wish you could change or just don't like about her?

Even though Rose is about as stubborn as a mule on a rainy day, I wouldn’t change a thing about her.
All the trouble she gives me keeps me on my toes.

Q 8:  Where do you see yourself 5 years down the road? What are your life goals?

I reckon in five years, Rose and I will have a couple of toddlers running around. Family means
everything to me and I hope to be as good a Father to my children as my own has been to me. I’ll
be a partner on the Miller construction crew and tending a large farm. In the evenings I’ll be tuckered
out from the long day of work and chores, but I’ve made a promise to Rose that I’ll make time to go
riding with her in the corn fields several evenings each week. Our lives will be filled with hard work and
sacrifice, but also a lot of laughter and love.

Q 9:  Would you ever give up being Amish for Rose? Explain your choice.

As long as Rose wants me, I won’t live without her. If I have to leave the Amish to keep her by my
side, I’d do it, but my hope is that she’ll choose to be Amish with me.

Q 10:  When was the first moment you knew you were in love with Rose? Where were you at or what happen?

When I think back on it, the first minute I laid eyes on her, I was a goner. My senses came alive at that
moment. Colors blazed brighter, smells were sweeter and sounds sharper. I thought I was plum crazy
when my body reacted the way it did at the sight of the English girl. I had to be careful to keep it all
in so Father and Jacob wouldn’t be the wiser. For a while I tried to convince myself I wasn’t falling for
Rose, but when I was alone with her in the woods on that warm, summer night, I finally let the feelings
in…and I knew I’d found the love of my life.

If I Were You left me breathless. Quite literally. I am head over heals in LOVE with this book. I mean if you know me I read a good 80% YA novels, I prefer them. When I was asked to read the If I Were You by the author I was a little hesitant only because I have not written many reviews for this type of novel. So to my surprise I was totally floored by how AMAZING this book really is. I just could not put this book down and read well into the night. Author Lisa Renee Jones superb writing skills and hot sexy love scenes make If I Were You a perfectly perfect read. I found not a single fault in the book. The story and characters took hold of my attention and refused to let go long after the last page.

Without a doubt I recommend this book to all adult readers as one NOT to miss!
"If I Were YOU", I would run out and buy this book right away.

Totally EPIC! One of the best books I have read. A MUST read!!

Cover Reveal + Giveaway: This is Forever by S.A. Price

Did it get you curious? Winter is the very sexy bassist for the band 13 Shades of Red, and his book, THIS IS FOREVER will be releasing December 2013. Wanna see the cover?

Now isn’t that just sexy? From now till December if you check out some of your favorite blogs that are rocking the mini graphic on the side column, we will be giving some teasers, excerpts and interviews about the book, on the 10th of the month.

Believe me; it really is going to be a Long Hard Winter. *wink*

And now… for a sexy sneak peek at THIS IS FOREVER…(Does contain strong language)

Seeing Lola after eight months was a fucking kick in the teeth. She had changed her hair, it was purple with black streaks, and she was wearing one fucker of an outfit. Platform Mary Jane’s, her signature, purple torn fishnet thigh highs with garters that ended in bows with skulls on them, micro mini in black satin with a lace trim. She had tripled up on her belts, her little baby tee molding to her torso like a second skin. It was razor cut in places, showing skin and the purple of her lace bra. Her arms warmers were knitted with little skulls on them. He was pretty sure she wasn’t wearing underwear also, the girl just loved to shock. Dare he think it was for his benefit? He wasn’t sure he even saw her, thinking he was dreaming the perfection before him.

But dreams don’t blow you off… at least his didn’t. His dreams, her especially, blew him. When dreams blew you off, those were called nightmares, and those sucked. Sucked like life was sucking right now. She had walked in with the rest of her band, greeted everyone but him, her gaze lingering a little too long on Colin, Rhys’ little brother, but then moved on as she kissed cheeks and hugged people.

He had to adjust his groin, discreetly of course, when she and Saffron hugged and snuggled. Apparently over the past several months Saffron and Lola had become quite the BFF, with Lola staying at Saffron’s place in New York when she had to go in for several shoots and meetings with her record company. Rhys had teased him about getting face timed and seeing both of them in little booty shorts and white tank tops… but he didn’t think they were that close.

And worse, he didn’t think seeing her all snuggly with Saffron would illicit the images rolling through his head. Not that Saffron wasn’t hot, but he just didn’t dig his best friend’s girl like that.  He grabbed a tootsie pop and unwrapped it, sticking the thick ball into his mouth. He watched her move from person to person, but never to him.

What. The. Fuck.

When everyone sat down, she sat at the other end, didn’t even bother to look at him. He went through dinner in a blur, his anger getting to him more and more. What the fuck was going on? He was beginning to feel like he was invisible. Maybe it was a nightmare?

When she got up and went to the bathroom, he followed, after exchanging a meaningful look with Rhys.

“So you’re just not going to say anything to me?” he said as he caught her coming out of the bathroom.

She looked at him and then sighed. “I didn’t want a public thing to happen.”

Public thing?

She looked him up and down. “I don’t know if I’m ready to say hi like I want to.”

Winter rolled his eyes. “So you can wrap yourself around Saffron, eye Colin up like he’s a steak, which by the way he’s not even eighteen yet, eww,” he ticked off on his fingers, “Yet you can’t even just turn and wave at me?”

Lola shook her head. “It’s not what I wanted. And Colin is going to be very popular…”

“You just didn’t wanna talk to me at all?” he asked, thoroughly confused. She was the one that pushed for the tour, and by all accounts she didn’t have issue with their past. It was what gave him hope.

She moved closer and shook her head. “That’s not it.”

“Then what’s it?” he bit out, his hands clenched at his sides. Gods, only she could infuriate him like this. Fuck she smelled good. All honey and warm clover… no one smelled like Lola.

Her voice lowered. “Do you like my outfit Winter?”

He growled. Fuck yes he liked her outfit. Loved. Wanted it crumpled on the floor of his bedroom. Wanted to peel it from her slowly, kissing every inch of skin he exposed.

She reached for him, her fingers tugging him closer by the belt loops of his jeans. “Good. You’re supposed to. You don’t get anything from me Winter Tulane. No greeting, no, little wave, no explanation. Eat your heart out baby.”

She got closer, her lips just against his, a slight almost imperceptible move of the hoop through the middle of his lip and then she was gone, back towards the party, her ass shaking with a sashay that had blood rushing from every place in his body to his cock. Fuck. What the hell was going on?

“Hey Lo,” he called after her. She gave him the finger and kept walking.

Game on. Game fucking on, he thought as he followed her back into the room. Confusion didn’t even convey how he was feeling about what happened, but holy fuck the signals she was throwing off were so convoluted he didn’t know if he should fist pump for getting her so close to him or brood over her words.

Rewind Day! So I get to choose a topic done is the past.

Top Ten Books I Loved But Never Wrote A Review For

Between the Lines Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult & Samantha van Leer  - I just adored this book! It was so super cute. Just never got around to reviewing it.

Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

The Rules:
• Grab your current read
• Open to a random page
• Share two (2) or so “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
• BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
• Share the title & author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

My teaser comes from the book:

Being Henry David by Cal Armistead

"Seriously, sometimes I feel like I don't know anything about you, Hank. Mr. Mysterious. Who the hell are you anyway?"

"I have no idea," I say, flashing a charming smile to show her I'm kidding.

Taken from page 178-179

I love comments! Leave your links to your blog post. I will come check them out. Thank you for stopping by and Happy Reading!
