Holiday Read-a-Thon is hosted by Liza @ WhoRuBlog

Runs from December 6th-8th - Sign ups are OPEN

Hashtag: #Readathon

Hey everyone! I am super excited to be participating in this read-a-thon. I just found out about it from a friend a few days ago, and of course those who know me here know I love doing read-a-thons. It's a fun way to challenge myself to read more books, although I am 96% into my goodreads reading Goal for 2013. 144/150 books. So close!

2013 Reading Challenge

2013 Reading Challenge
Beckie has read 144 books toward her goal of 150 books.

The main reason I am joining in for this read-a-thon is because as a part of the event each reader will be donating/helping others who are less fortunate for the holiday season.

Here is what I am choosing to do :
  • For each page I read I will be donating 1 cent to the salvation army.
  • For each page I read I will be donating 1 minute to volunteering at my local homeless shelter feeding the hungry.
  • For each book I read I will be donating a bag of food to our local food bank.

Time Devoted to Reading:
  • I will be reading from the 6th-8th.

Goals:
  • Read 1-2 Books.
  • Do mini-challenges.
  • Keep up with daily updates.
  • Be more proactive with commenting on others blogs.
  • READ MORE, GET DISTRACTED LESS!
  • Meets new people, make friends but most of all have fun!

The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa
The 5th Wave by Rick Yancey

Waiting on Wednesday # 13 / The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

I am waiting on...

The Iron Traitor by Julie Kagawa
Paperback, 352 pages
Series: The Iron Fey: Call of the Forgotten #2
Expected publication: October 29th 2013 by Harlequin Teen

Add on Goodreads / Preorder

IN THE REAL WORLD, WHEN YOU VANISH INTO THIN AIR FOR A WEEK, PEOPLE TEND TO NOTICE

After his unexpected journey into the lands of the fey, Ethan Chase just wants to get back to normal. Well, as "normal" as you can be when you see faeries every day of your life. Suddenly the former loner with the bad reputation has someone to try for-his girlfriend, Kenzie. Never mind that he's forbidden to see her again.

But when your name is Ethan Chase and your sister is one of the most powerful faeries in the Nevernever, "normal" simply isn't to be. For Ethan's nephew, Keirran, is missing, and may be on the verge of doing something unthinkable in the name of saving his own love. Something that will fracture the human and faery worlds forever, and give rise to the dangerous fey known as the Forgotten. As Ethan's and Keirran's fates entwine and Keirran slips further into darkness, Ethan's next choice may decide the fate of them all.

I am SOOOOOO super excited to read "The Iron Traitor"! I WANTED NEEDED this book even since I finished the first one.

So what book(s) are YOU waiting on this Wednesday?
Are you excited to read The Iron Traitor too?

Top Ten Tuesday (#4) + Teaser Tuesday (#25)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

This week's Top Ten is:

Top Ten Books Written In The Past 10 Years That I Hope People Are Still Reading In 30 Years

I loved this Top Ten for this week. I had a lot of fun with it and I do in fact hope I would still love and enjoy reading all of the books I choose in 30 years.

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.
Anyone can play along! Just do the following:

The Rules:
•Grab your current read
•Open to a random page
•Share two (2) or so “teaser” sentences from somewhere on that page
•BE CAREFUL NOT TO INCLUDE SPOILERS! (make sure that what you share doesn’t give too much away! You don’t want to ruin the book for others!)
•Share the title &  author, too, so that other TT participants can add the book to their TBR Lists if they like your teasers.

This week's teaser comes from The Immortal Rules written by Julie Kagawa.

I felt cold and clenched my fists to stifle the anger rising up like a storm. Zeke should know me better, he should know I would have never....

What was your teaser and book for this week? What did you choose for your Top Ten books?

I would love to know. Post in the comments/or links and I will stop by! Thank you!

The Review Copy Cleanup: Love Will Find a Way | Challenge 5

The Review Copy Cleanup Challenge is hosted by
Vicky @ Books, Biscuits & Tea and Celine @ Nyx Book Reviews!

This is the last challenge for this wonderful event and while I missed doing a few of the other challenges I knew I had to do this one. So with that said here is what we are said to do:

In the Love Will Find a Way Challenge we're sharing our all-time favourite books. If you were stuck on an island, or in a cave, which books would you bring? We're not limiting you to bring a certain amount of books, so give us your best!

Below are the books I would bring if I myself was in this situation -

The complete seires of "The Iron Fey" by Julie Kagawa

The Complete series of "The Hunger Games" by Suzanne Collins

A Classic | Romeo and Juliet by William Shakespeare

The Bible | A Must :)

So here is my list and I know I could think of a lot more books in which I would bring but these are the main ones. So what about everyone else? What books would you take if you were stuck on an island, or in a cave, ect?

Follow Friday: #17

Follow Friday hosted by Parajunkee & alisoncanread

Featured Blogger:
Danielle @ Mercurial Musings

This weeks question is:

Q: What book would you love to see made into a movie or television show and do you have actors/actresses in mind to play the main characters?

Well ever since I read the book series The Iron Fey I have been telling my friends that these books would make an amazing movie(s). Although I am not sure who I would get to play in my dream cast that would be a hard descion but I shall try my best.

I would have Emmanuelle Béart play Meghan. I just love her hair and I can picture the actress as Meghan Chase perfectly.

Prince Ash - Need I say More. *Swoons* ^__^

So here is what I would love Puck to look like in my dream cast. YUM-O, right?! I mean look at those eyes!

Wow, this was a very fun FF question and I would love to see what everyone else did for there's. Feel free to post in the comments your FF link so I can come check yours out. :)

Happy Friday everyone. I am SO glad this weekend is almost here, aren't you?!

Goodbye 2011 and Hello 2012!

Wow, what an awesome year in the book world it has been. I myself have read so many wonderful books as well as found so many amazing authors who I never knew were out there. With so many books out there and not enough time to read everyone I want to each year. I thought since this is the day before a new year why not tell everyone my book highlights from this year. So before I begin I want to once again thank every author this year who asked me to read your books and wish you all the best of luck in the years to come. Also to all my followers who have stuck with me and I hope each and everyone of you enjoy Bittersweet Enchantment.

My 2011 wrap up:

Books Read: 103 (my goal was 100)
Pages Read: 30515
Blog Post: 235

So here are three new year resolutions for the new year -

1. Read more than last year
2. Blog more than last year
3. Do more book reviews

My Top 10 Books I read for 2011: ( does not mean the book was published in 2011)

As for the books I am looking forward to next year, well only time will tell. I know there will be a lot of awesome one coming out as well as ones I really need to read from my TBR list.  I am really thinking that 2011 will be a great year for me and I hope it will be for you as well. :)
