The stakes have risen even higher in this third book in the Hourglass series.

The Hourglass is a secret organization focused on the study of manipulating time, and its members — many of them teenagers -have uncanny abilities to make time work for them in mysterious ways. Inherent in these powers is a responsibility to take great care, because altering one small moment can have devastating consequences for the past, present, and future. But some time travelers are not exactly honorable, and sometimes unsavory deals must be struck to maintain order.

With the Infinityglass (central to understanding and harnessing the time gene) at large, the hunt is on to find it before someone else does.

But the Hourglass has an advantage. Lily, who has the ability to locate anything lost, has determined that the Infinityglass isn't an object. It's a person. And the Hourglass must find him or her first. But where do you start searching for the very key to time when every second could be the last?

I find it most difficult to write a review for the final book in a series. Spoilers are always an issue for those who have yet to read or not completely finished the series. So with that said I am going to try my hardest to NOT spoil anything in my review but focus on what I did and did not like about Infinityglass.

I read Hourglass back in June of 2011 and fell in love with the book and characters alike. The idea of time travel has always amazed me. I grew up watching shows like Quantum Leap with my Dad and even dreamt about all the places and time periods I would go back in time to visit if I could time travel too. So when I heard about this series I was beyond ecstatic to read it. After finishing Hourglass and Timepiece (book 1 and 2) I knew the ending of the series would be coming soon but still was very much looking forward to reading Infinityglass. Although some of my expectations for the final book fell short. The pacing for me was sooooo slow. I found myself stopping and picking up another book before again coming back. This may be because of how much there was going on and how the author surely wanted to wrap up the story while explaining everything going on.

Without a doubt Infinityglass was even more action packed than the prior books in the series. Author Myra McEntire continued to develop and intensify the story with more conflict and action leaving the readers with a sense of wonder, asking themselves; "what's going to happen next?" Each and every character in the story (and series) had his or her own place within the book. Each profoundly contributing to the perfect ending.  Besides the obvious "cough *Jack & Teague* cough" villains, the ending wrapped up quite nicely piecing everything into place.

Now unto the part I really loved about the book. The sweet and gentle romance between Hallie and Dune. Such a bittersweet love that blossomed more and more with each and every chapter. Hallie being so broken from the obvious deceit and hatred from her Mother. Dune who is deeply burdened by his past; losing his family and blaming himself to no end. I adored watching both Hallie and Dune fall in love with each other, truly accepting each other with no judgement. Both finding peace and happiness within each other.

Without a doubt I would most definitely recommend Infinityglass to my readers and all YA Science Fiction fans. The Hourglass series is like nothing I have ever read before. It's not at all your average time travel novel. No... the series is so much more.

Totally Awesome! I loved it, would read again.

Myra McEntire knows the words to every R&B hit of the last decade, but since she lives in Nashville, the country music capital of America, her lyrical talents go sadly unappreciated. She’s chosen, instead, to channel her “mad word skills” into creating stories.

She’s an avid Doctor Who fan and will argue passionately about which incarnation is the best.

  1. I wish I could go back to the day I graduated high school. My attitude that day was so ridiculous. I wish I hadn't been so nervous and snappy at everyone. So embarrassing :3
