Are you a Book Addict? Take the quiz and find out!

Hey fellow book addicts!

Today while reading I came up with a nifty idea (or at least I think so). I've made a book addict quiz for anyone to take and to see who TRULY is an Official Book Addict.

Here's how it's going to work:
Everyone is allowed to take the quiz once. Once your finished you will need to add up your score either on a piece of paper or online somehow to tally up your total. The way to earn points is to answer the 25 question below (honestly, please) and give yourself 1 point for each one you said YES to.  If you answer NO, then there is no point given.

Once you've finished tallying up your score you will need to refer to the quiz results below to find out how you scored.  There will also be a small button you're welcome to take and display on your blog/website/facebook, etc letting everyone know totally hooked on books you truly are.

THE QUIZ!

  1. Own more than 300 books (physical and/or ebooks)
  2. Stay up really late to finish a book, all the while thinking "just one more chapter and then I'll quit."
  3. Reading while sitting on the toilet. (come on...I know you've all done this. hehe)
  4. Cried in public while reading a sad part of your book.
  5. Wished or dreamt you could live in a certain book and be dating/married to a certain character.
  6. Squealed like a fan-girl while in a store in the book section, and noticed others looking at you funny.
  7. Read a book while dining at a restaurant.
  8. Have more books in your TBR pile than you'd ever finish reading in the next 25 years.
  9. Bought a book solely based on the cover alone.
  10. Walked while reading a book, not really looking where your going.
  11. Skipped meals because you didn't realize the time while reading.
  12. Bought a bookmark because it matched one of your books.
  13. Try to convert your NON-reading friends to read the same books as you and get upset when they turn you down.
  14. Literally yelled or cursed at the book when there was a part you hated or that shocked you.
  15. Own book merchandise, like buttons, t-shirts, totes, bookish jewelry.
  16. Would pay GOOD $$$ to get a ARC of a book before anyone else.
  17. Has meet your favorite author and have signed copies of their book(s).
  18. Have literally hide someplace to read so no one could bother you.
  19. Have read while in the pool/hot tub/ or bathtub.
  20. Have written a letter to your favorite author and got a reply back.
  21. Have been over your limit on checked out books at the library.
  22. Have spent more than 100 dollars on books in one day.
  23. Got upset when you see someone treat a book badly.
  24. Could live without TV and Internet for a month or two, and only being allowed to read.
  25. Last but not least, make up dream casts for your favorite books.

RESULTS!
25-20 Points: It's official you are without a doubt a book addict! You LIVE, THINK, and BREATHE books.  You're life would be incomplete without reading and books.

19-15 Points: You really enjoy reading and buying new books. Reading is more of a hobby than a obsession.

14-10 Points: You like to read but don't feel bad if you haven't in a while. You're more likely to wait and read new books once everyone else has. You buy books on occasion but not all the time.

9-5 Points: Books and reading is OKAY but not a necessity. You can go days without reading and rarely buy a book unless you really want it.

5-0 Points: Reading is not really for you. You hated reading in school and feel is not all that fun to do it now. Occasionally you may pick of a book but only if it's something that really interests you and is cheap.

Please link the images back to this post or www.bittersweet-enchantment.com
You may resize, if needed.

This one can be taken and used by everyone if you don't want to use the ones above.

I really hope everyone enjoyed my book addict quiz.
What did YOU score?
Leave me a comment sharing your results.  :)

Whodunit: Murder Mystery Game | Authors/Bloggers - Want to join?

CALLING AUTHORS & BLOGGERS

WHERE: On my Blog - http://www.bittersweet-enchantment.com/

WHEN: Roughly the first two weeks in March
WHAT: Read below

I am working on doing a really fun and exciting event on my blog, Bittersweet Enchantment. The game/event is still unnamed for now but will be a whodunit Murder Mystery. If you're unfamiliar with this then here are the basics. The event will run for over a 2 week period (a couple times a week). There will be a killer (an author, who will be chosen later), the victims (a few bloggers), clues, alibis, and of course a line of questioning with me as the detective. Every few days there will be a post going up with more clues, and questioning for each author and even some twists and turns along the way. Until the very end when the killer is revealed and the game is over. So here where YOU come in if you choose to accept. I will be needing 5-6 authors to play out as suspects. I would need these authors to be willing to be committed to play during the time of the event as well as answer the questions about the murder and provide any other details I would need. Of course one of YOU I would choose to be the killer and all others would be innocent.

Also any of you who want to play would need to donate at least one of your books (print or ebook) into grand prize for giveaway on my blog. My blog readers will be playing along trying to guess who's the killer. You are welcome to giveaway other items as well such a swag or gift cards. It all up to you. Being involved will also give you and your book(s) promotion.

If you have any question please email me. There will be more details worked out once I have all of my suspects and the victims.

AUTHORS: WANT TO PLAY? CLICK HERE or email me at ChiKittie@gmail.com with the subject line "Author Request - Murder Mystery Game".
Be sure to tell me what prize you'd like to giveaway.

BLOGGERS: I will be needing at least 3 bloggers whom would be willing to play the victims. You wouldn't have to do anything per say. I would just need your approval to name you in the game as being the victim. (or dead)
If you'd like to play please CLICK HERE or email me at ChiKittie@gmail.com with the subject line "Blogger Request - Murder Mystery Game".
I am always up for any ideas to how to make the game more fun. So if anyone has an ideas or would like to host the game, with me feel free to contact me about that as well. )

Once I have all of the key players I will began to set things up throughout the next month.

Thanks everyone! I think this will be really fun!

Firefly (Cicada, #2)
Firefly (Cicada #2) by Belle Whittington
Published: February 2nd 2013

Genre: Romance science fiction

“The darkest days are ahead of us,” Andrew whispered as the drape of shadows slipped away, allowing Blair to awaken. And in her heart of hearts she knew it was true. The unmistakable signs were all around her, growing within her. She was becoming something more than human. All she could do was accept the inevitable.

“I’ve become a freak … an alien. I no longer belong to the human world,” Blair told her true love, and he held her close, determined never to give her up.

“I’d stay in this darkness forever as long as I could be with you. Wherever you are … that’s my home.” Everett meant every word. In fact, he’d willingly give up his own life to protect the girl he’d always loved.

But there was a storm brewing … a firestorm so strong and catastrophic that it could keep them apart forever.

That storm roared into town wearing a brown leather bomber jacket and riding a motorcycle.

Ash was like a secret in human clothing … a dangerous secret. Everything about him was mesmerizing – right down to the swirls of ink that flowed over the smooth muscles across his chest and around his arms. Being with him was like playing with fire.

Blair knew all about playing with fire.

She knew something else, too. A small quiet voice deep within whispered that she really would be separated from everyone and everything she’d known and loved.

Because some secrets run too deep.

Many warm thanks to lovely Beckie for having me over to this gorgeous blog for a cup of java and a chat!  I’m really excited about getting to know you all and hope you’ll enjoy learning a little bit about me.

I thought I’d share a little bit about my wild and crazy world of writing.  I took a six week break from writing after I typed the last sentence of Firefly.   It’s not that I wasn’t ready to dive right into my next book, it’s just that I needed to be present in reality for a bit.  You see … before I can begin a story, I’ve got to drive headlong into a big ole daydream.  And until the book is finished, I remain in that daydream.  It’s sort of like existing in an alternate reality, living half-in-half-out of another world.

What helps me to get settled into that daydream?  Well, probably the biggest mood-setter is music.  I’m sure that I”m way behind the times, but I’ve recently discovered Spotify.  It’s like magic!  I can download the music from Spotify to my iPod Touch, which has been really helpful to me.  Until I’ve gotten all my inspiration play lists added to Spotify, my readers can check them out on my YouTube channel.  Here are the links:

Another thing I think readers might like to know is that I have a favorite song that fits the mood for each one of the books in the trilogy! Want to hear the unofficial theme song to each book? Here goes!

And it must not go without giving many thanks to the awesome musicians whose songs have given me so much inspiration.  I’m so thankful to them for sharing their magic.

Once I’ve gotten the mood set and the daydreams sorted out and in order, then it’s time to write.  Since I have a day job, I have to set my writing aside during those hours I’m away from home.  However, even if I’ve physically set it aside, I’m still living half-in-half-out of my story.  I’m an avid daydreamer, you see, so I really can’t help it.  And it’s actually the way I write when I’m not able to put the story down into words.  I spin the tales in my mind while going about my daily routine at work.  But once I get home, it’s on like Donkey Kong!

Once I’m at home, I snuggle into my favorite corner of the sofa and get ready to put all those daydreams into words.  What are the necessary items for me to have in my reading spot?  For starters, I simply must have the soft cotton throw my mother gave me.  A drink must always be close at hand, and I usually have my notebook and a copy of Cicada so I can flip back to past scenes in order to keep continuity in the story.  Of course, I need my glasses handy so I can see all those tiny letters on the laptop screen. LOL!

Sometimes on the weekend, I like sitting at the dining table so I can gaze out of the window into the backyard and the spooky little forest beyond the back fence.
From this seat at the table, I can see the deep creek that snakes through the vine-ridden trees and watch as butterflies flutter high up into the shady canopy above.  Often, on summer nights, fireflies light up that spooky little forest with thousands of sparkles in the darkness, and I think of Blair and Everett and imagine what they are doing at that very moment.

Something told me that you’d like to see a part of that spooky little forest behind my house.  Here’s a glimpse.  Occasionally, there are birds perched on the vines.  But I think I scared them away when I took this photo.

However, in case you are wondering, this isn’t my inspiration for the place Blair calls “the haunted forest.”  That little forest actually exists, but it’s just down the road.  I pass it on my way to town.

Brrrr! It’s chilly out here!  Let’s head back into the house for some hot chocolate.

Uh oh!  Looks like I’m busted!  Yes, it’s true.  I often pop over to Facebook while I’m writing.  It’s a bad habit, I know.  But I try to only take a peek when I need a break or between chapters.  You believe me, right? ;-)

By the way, have you liked me on Facebook?  I’d love for you to stop by and join in the fun!  Comments and questions are always welcome, and I always respond.  Besides, I frequently have contests, so check it out!

Thanks for stopping by for a visit.  It’s so nice to meet each and everyone one of you.  I’ve got the best readers in the world.

Eternal Hope Blog Tour + Scavenger Hunt!

Hello everyone! Welcome to the Eternal Hope Blog Tour. Today is my stop on this amazing book tour. I'm so super siked out to be able to be part of it!  I did a This or That author interview with Frankie Rose to share with you all AND I am part of a really fun Scavenger Hunt. You can win some pretty awesome prizes by participating in it. More details about how you can is found below. So lets get this party started. Please help me in welcoming Frankie to my blog.

Eternal Hope ( The Hope Series #2 )
by Frankie Rose
Published October 12th 2012
Genre: YA Paranormal Romance

Purchase @ Amazon

He loves me, he loves me not, he loves me

When your friends go missing and you don’t know if they’re dead or alive; when you tie your soul to the one you love; when you kill to protect and your family suffers, there’s only one thing you can do:

Move to Montana.

Farley Hope is special. She was prophesied to kill the forebears of her bloodline- a race of cold-blooded Reavers, men who steal the souls of the living to gain power. The Quorum had counted on Farley ending her own life in the process, but when Kayden came to her aid and helped save both her and Daniel, he undid their plans. Now the Quorum are displeased, not only with Kayden, but with Farley and Daniel too. Though her father is now dead, Farley’s troubles with the Reavers are far from over. An ancient Immortal, trapped for a thousand years, wants Farley for himself, and he will stop at nothing to claim her.

With secrets that lead to anger and pain, that turn friendship to dust, the group must overcome the problems within their own circle before they have a hope of fighting off the powers that threaten their lives.

( Personal Note:  The book cover is so very sexy. The model who plays Daniel is super yummy. I almost forgot how to BREATHE! )

This or That Author Interview w/ Frankie Rose

Reading: Young Adult or Adult? Young Adult

Purple or Midnight Blue? Purple

Reading at home or reading at a coffee shop? At home. I react too much to what I'm reading to not look like an idiot when I'm lost in a book. My husband kind of expects it from me, but the general public would probably think I was nuts!

Winter or Summer? Winter. Ironic, now that I live in Australia, but I love the snow and cuddling up in front of a warm fire. It would be my ideal evening, curled up with a good book in front of the fire.

Meeting Edward Cullen (not rob) or meeting Patch Cipriano (hush, hush)? Patch!! For sure. Patch is badass and has attitude. Edward's a bit of a fop, really, isn't he?

Sushi or T-Bone Steak? Nooooooo! Don't make me choose! My two favourite foods right here. I wanna say surf and turf so I can have both. Is that allowed?

Laptop or Tablet? Laptop. Tablets are great for some things but mostly annoying when you need to type or do anything that might require a USB!

Writing: 1st person POV or 3rd POV? Hard question. I actually prefer writing 1st person now. I wrote Sovereign Hope in third and then had to stick to it for the following books. My next book to be released is 1st person, and so will the one after that.

Zombies or Unicorns? Zombies! no contest...

Dream Vacation: Paris, France or Rome, Italy? I've been to both cities and I have to say I wasn't blown away by either. I love the mountains, and when I go on holiday I like hiking or skiing or something like that. I don't like hanging out in touristy cities for very long. That said, if I had to choose between the two, I guess Rome was cooler.

Stand Alone novel or series? Series! I love being able to sink my teeth into a story that's
spread over 3 or 4 books. Makes you feel like you're going on a journey, and you really
connect with the characters.

Winnie The Pooh or Eeyore? Funny, my grandparents told me I was nicknamed Eeyore as a kid because I was so miserable all the time. I was a complainer, apparently. In light of that, I'm gonna stick with my homeboy, Eeyore.

About The Author:

Frankie Rose
As a child, I was always accused of being bookish because I wore glasses- big, horrible, ugly ones with too-thick lenses. Those kids, the super smart ones who always know which tender insecurities to poke at in order to provokelife-long complexes, used to accuse me of reading too many books and that my eyes were going to rot out of my head (their words, not mine!) The truth of the matter was a little more embarrassing: I used to sit too close to the T.V. That was the reason why I had to wear glasses, but kids don’t really care about small, insignificant details like the truth, and so I was labelled a nerd. The label kinda stuck, and after some sage advice from my awesome nana (nana, you rock!) I decided that if I was going to be abused for my supposed literary obsession, I might as well develop one. I guess that’s how I got into books and reading at an early age. Since then, I’ve been ripping through books like they’re going out of fashion, which, thankfully, they’re not. Good thing, too, because I’m a writer now, and books are my business!

Thank you to everyone who has supported and encouraged me on my journey- look for your names in the acknowledgements! And a big thank you to you, the reader. I hope you’ve fallen in love with Farley and Daniel just like I have, and that you’ll join them in the next book, Eternal Hope!

Farley felt her face redden, which was _________ inappropriate. Daniel and Kayden were _______ she was watching, and for once their sparring lacked the flashy showmanship they usually employed to _______ her. For the two of them, nothing _______ beyond the dimly lit parameters of the hangar. Beyond the lunge, beyond the parry, beyond the block.
This was how it would really go down, if they ever meant to do serious harm to one _______. Movements fluid and graceful, there was _________ primal about their circling. Quick _______ of calculating eyes, green and blue, preempting the other’s next move. Kayden’s hair was darkened with sweat, but both their chests rose and fell with __________ regularity. In and out. Slow and steady. The stern, focused expressions on their faces said ____ were in total control.

The ______ would have been a killing blow. Would have been, if it had even ______. Daniel sprang back and duck-rolled over the dusty floor, crouching into a defensive pose. With his knife ________, his eyes lifted to fix on Kayden, but they _____ quite made it.
