Top Ten Tuesday #27+ Teaser Tuesday #54 ( Sisters' Fate )

It's been a while since I've done a Top Ten Tuesday, sadly. I love this weeks theme so I decided to join in. I will say my ten choices are going to be an extremely (and maybe even crazy) mixed up group. ;) haha!

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

This week's Top Ten is
Top Ten Book Characters That Would Be Sitting At My Lunch Table

  1.  Anna from Anna and The French Kiss: She is so sweet, upbeat and downright totally awesome. I could see her being one of my closest friends at the table.
  2. Étienne St. Clair from Anna and The French Kiss (who saw this one coming?!) He of course would be there since, well, since he's AWESOME (and sexy as hell! - Shh, don't tell Anna I said that.) Sitting right next to Anna. :)
  3. Robin Goodfellow aka Puck from The Iron Fey series. I love a man who can make me laugh, and who is definitely eye candy. I think we could get along famously.
  4. Kaylee from The Soul Screamers series. I can just see myself being a really good friend with her. She's loyal and brave. Besides having an epic power, she comes across as being helpful and selfless.
  5. Roth from White Hot Kiss. Why? Because we would be dating and in love. Nuff' said. :) (hey a girl can dream right?? RIGHT?! )
  6. Scarlet from The Lunar Chronicles. She's a totally wicked cool chick. I think she would be right next to Kaylee at the table. They both would fight for the ones they love. Also, she would bring food to share. ;)
  7. Katarina Bishop from the Heist Society series. Kat would be great for sneaking us some free food or even figuring out a way to cut next period without getting caught.
  8. Patch Cipriano from the Hush, Hush series. Patch would be the protector and a watchful eye, so the group would be safe. He also being an Fallen Angel and drop dead sexy would fit in perfectly. (that's my reasons, and I sticking to them) :-P
  9. +  10. Eleanor & Park from Eleanor & Park. (haha) They both would add such diversity to the group. I could see them both being close friends with me as well as Roth, Anna, and St. Clair.

there's my list and wow, what a fun group it is. ;)
What do you all think of my choices?

Teaser Tuesdays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB of Should Be Reading.

My teaser comes from the book:

Sisters' Fate (The Cahill Witch Chronicles #3)
by Jessica Spotswood

"Are you a witch?" he asks.

I respect him all the more for coming straight out with it. I should lie to him. For his own good. I should, but I don't. "Yes," I say quietly.
"But I'm not the one who erased your memory. I swear it."

He leans forward, squinting. "How do you know my memory been erased, then?"
 - Taken from page 138.

So that's all folks. Leave a comment if you'd like about my Top Ten or teaser. I love reading them all and of course if you blog leave me a link to YOUR post. I will be sure to stop by and visit you back. Promise. ;)

Top Ten Tuesday # 20 + Teaser Tuesdays # 45

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

This week's Top Ten is:

Top Ten Favorite Beginnings/Endings In Books

1. The Iron Queen (The Iron Fey #3) by Julie Kagawa - The ending just brought me to tears. I mean full out sobbing like a baby, box of tissues, snot and all! haha

2. Beautiful Lies by Jessica Warman - The ending of this book totally BLEW. MY. MIND!

3. Immortal City (Immortal City #1) by Scott Speer - Both beginning and the ending were spectacular! One of my favorite books last year.

4. Slide (Slide #1) by Jill Hathaway - Mostly the ending but the beginning was amazing as well or as said in my review: "Slide rocked my socks off".

5. The Devouring (The Devouring #1) by Simon Holt - OMG, the ending was SO scary! I had nightmares after reading this book. The whole book was one big freak fest. Also it's one of 5 books I literally didn't put down until the very end. (even if that meant staying up to 3 am)

6. Shatter Me (Shatter Me #1) by Tahereh Mafi - The beginning was totally epic! (as was the end)

7. Bad Girls Don't Die (Bad Girls Don't Die #1) by Katie Alender - Another scary book that kept me up half the night reading. The ending left me breathless.

8. The Last Academy by Anne Applegate - THE ENDING! *True story: I was sitting in a Barnes & Noble reading the last 60 pages of this book, while my best friend was sitting across from me eating. When I finally found out the why all of these odd things keep happening to Cam my mouth dropped. (literally) I mean like, OMG!!!! My friend is looking at me like "WHAT THE??!". I swear people around me are giving me a look like, is she is crazy?! *

9. Between the Lines by Jodi Picoult - The beginning. Super cute!

10. Shadowlands (Shadowlands #1) by Kate Brian -  I was like: WTF????!!!!! The ending totally blew my mind..... Nooooooo!!!  I cannot put into words the ending. *mind blown*

It was SOOO hard for me to only choose 10 books because there are so many that fall into this category for me.

Finn's mouth claims mine with a searing kiss, and my mind empties of everything except his hands, his lips, his tongue.

There is a little cut on Rory's check from her Father's ring. I call up my magic again and touch her cheek, lightly, with my fingertips. "Hold still."

Breathless Reads winter 2013 Author Tour: Meeting the Authors, taking pictures & giveaway!

Today I am going to share with you all about the Breathless Reads book tour I went to on Feb 11th, 2013. The event took place at a local indie bookstore called Flyleaf Books in Chapel Hill, NC. This was the east coast leg of the tour which featured the following YA authors:

Fiona Paul (Venom)
Beth Revis (Shades of Earth)
Morgan Rhodes (Falling Kingdoms)
Elizabeth Richards (Black City)
Jess Spotswood (Born Wicked)

I had got there a little late because of traffic, as I was coming from Raleigh, NC. I ended up sitting in the back because of this so I was not able to get really good pictures. (a lot of peoples heads in the way)
Of course there was some Q & A, as well are the authors each speaking about their older and new upcoming books. Again after I got all of my books signed by the authors I ended up staying late and chatting with each one more personally. Which, yes, was pretty dang EPIC! Elizabeth Richards asked me what book  really brought me back into my love of reading? I told her I was not sure I would have to think about this. So she mentioned I should turn the discussion into a blog post. I plan to too one day soon.

Anyway, here are my pictures I took of and with the authors as well are images of my signed books/poster.

I hope you all enjoy and please leave me a comment. There will be a giveaway at the end of this post for some more signed swag items. Be sure to enter. :)

Waiting on Wednesday # 3 / Star Cursed

"Waiting on Wednesday" is a weekly event, hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine, that spotlights upcoming releases that we're eagerly anticipating.

OMG! I so WANT NEEEEEEED this book!  ^__^

Star Cursed (The Cahill Witch Chronicles #2)
Hardcover, 272 pages
Expected publication: June 18th 2013 by Putnam Juvenile

Add on Goodreads / Preorder

With the Brotherhood persecuting witches like never before, a divided Sisterhood desperately needs Cate to come into her Prophesied powers. And after Cate's friend Sachi is arrested for using magic, a war-thirsty Sister offers to help her find answers—if Cate is willing to endanger everyone she loves.

Cate doesn't want to be a weapon, and she doesn't want to involve her friends and Finn in the Sisterhood's schemes. But when Maura and Tess join the Sisterhood, Maura makes it clear that she'll do whatever it takes to lead the witches to victory. Even if it means sacrifices. Even if it means overthrowing Cate. Even if it means all-out war.

In the highly anticipated sequel to Born Wicked, the Cahill Witch Chronicles continue Cate, Maura and Tess's quest to find love, protect family, and explore their magic against all odds in an alternate history of New England.

Born Wicked (book #1) is still the best book I have read in 2012. I adored everyone single page!!! Here is my review if anyone would like to read it - HERE. If you have yet to read this series, DO! I mean right now! I so can't want until I am able to get my hands on a copy of Star Cursed.

So what book are YOU waiting on this Wednesday?

Top Ten Tuesday (#14) + Teaser Tuesday (#36)

Top Ten Tuesday is an original feature/weekly meme created at The Broke and the Bookish. This meme was created because we are particularly fond of lists here at The Broke and the Bookish. We'd love to share our lists with other bookish folks and would LOVE to see your top ten lists!

This week's Top Ten is:

Top Ten Books To Get In The Halloween Spirit

1. I am currently reading Alice in Zombieland. Although it turned out not to be what I thought the story would be like. I still am loving it! What's not to love about kicking some zombie butt!

2. The Immortal Rules is one of my favorite reads this year. A lot of horror and the world-building is phenomenal.

3. This book is one of the scariest books I have read. In fact the whole "Bad Girls Don't Die" series is totally wicked spooky. I am a huge fan of the authors work. These books are one not to miss and would definitely play well into a Halloween themed read.

4. The Devouring is by far the scariest book I have EVER read. I could not read this at night or else I would have nightmares. This whole series was just mind-boggling. So not for the weak hearted. If you are a fan of horror novels then be sure to read this series.

5. If you enjoy books about witches then Born Wicked would be perfect for you. This books was SO good! I love each and every page. By far my favorite book read in 2012.

6. Scary School is really fun and light middle-grade read. I reviewed the book months ago and loved it. :) It would be a great Halloween read for younger kids.

7. Bad Taste in Boys is a very fun zombie novel. I read the book over a year ago and really enjoyed it. In fact this book was one of the first zombie novels I had read and really peaked my interest in reading more books like it.

8. The cover alone is surely a reason to read this book during October. Zombies are really popular this year. While I have not read Rot & Ruin, I do in fact own it. Just need to read it sometime soon.

9. I LOVE the cover of the book, The Turning. For those of you not familiar with this book, it is a re-telling of the classic Turn of the Screw. I would never want to live in that house. Way to spooky!

10. While I have yet to read, The Blessed. I have read reviews on this book and make it sound quite freaky and strange. I love a book that will keep me guessing.

Share your Top Ten list with me in the comments section below. I will come take a peak. ãƒ„

Since I am reading two book this week I am going to go ahead and post a teaser from both.
The 1st one comes from:  Middle Ground written by Katie Kacvinsky.

Justin rolled out of bed, wearing nothing but a pair of black boxers. I couldn't help but stare at him as he walked over to the corner of the room and dug through a pile of clothes until he came up with a pair of jeans.

 Taken from page 236.

The 2nd one comes from:  Alice in Zombieland written by Gena Showalter.

The bites I endured began to ache all over again, as if to remind me that they were there and I'd come close to dying.

Taken from page 184.

Please share with me your Top Ten or teaser for this week.
It may take me some time to get all of your blogs but I will asap. ;)

Thank you for stopping by and Happy Reading!
