When Claire Miller turned eighteen all she wanted to do was celebrate her birthday, but after a night on the town with her best friend she awakes to a visitor she never expected. The rulers of her region, a vampire royal family, have chosen her to be turned as their new heir and vampire princess. Claire quickly discovers the royal family is not what they seem and that she has secrets in her past, she never knew existed.

My Book Review:

Let me first start by saying I read Megan's book, Released a while back and did a review on it so when she contacting me to read her newest book, Savor -  I was thrilled to be able to read another one of her books and Savor was all that I hoped it would be and more! I loved the whole idea of the beginning of the book. Where in the world, humans know about Vampires and respect them. Once a human turns 18 years of age they are required to donate blood at a local blood bank to help provide food for vampire families. When Claire the main character has to go and do her part the day after her 18th Birthday and donate blood, she soon comes to find out that her blood is special: perfect! The Vampire Royal family invites Claire
to come to there home and will make her a offer that she will not be able to refuse.

Claire arrives at the home of the Royal family where she meets the King and Queen who tell her what her blood being perfect will come to mean. They want her to become a Vampires but also their Daughter. Claire makes the hard choice to leave her old live (her Mom and best friends) behind and begin a new as a Royal Vampire. Although Claire seemed eager to leave her old life  and become a Vampire she later has many questions about her new life only to meet some new friends, who are also Vampire's living with her. Although some of the Vampires she meets are not as they seem, but very evil. Seems like not everyone in the Vampires home is happy with the choice that was made to have Claire become a Vampire Daughter to the King and Queen.  On the night of Claire's "Coming out Party" - A dance to celebrate her joining the Vampire family the humans are far from pleased and try to ruin the ball. Now a decision will be made to find Claire a "blood-mate" to keep her protected from Humans and Vampires as well. This one decision will turn Claire's world around - Once she learns who he is and who he has come to protect Claire from. The ending will leave you hungry for more....

Yes, Megan Duncan has done it again! Savor is a sensational read! This book will so not disappoint the reader but will leave you hugging the book once you are done wanting more. I so enjoyed Claire's character as well as all of the others, well not all. I did not like Ana one bit - She was always a royal pain in the a**. Other than that each character throughout the book was very entertaining to read about. The story held my attention throughout the book with little or no gaps of being slow or dull. Savor was well written and I could perfectly imagine the story in my head as it played out. Although I believe Vampires book are now coming out at a overwhelming amount per year. I found Savor to have a fresh and unique story-line that was very enjoyable. A very fun, fast read and I loved the ending!! I cannot wait to find out what happens next.  I would very much recommend the book to YA-Adults - And to anyone who loves Vampires, Romance, and a page-turning Paranormal Work of Art - SAVOR!!!

I hope everyone enjoyed my review for Savor and loved to learn more about the book.

Title: Thin Air
Author: Lynn Seresin
Number of Pages: 437

Star Rating:  ★★★★

Alice Ayre is no ordinary teenager. She took her first name from a statue in Central Park, pulled her last name out of the air (literally), and she’s actually almost a thousand years old. In fact, the only “ordinary” thing about Alice is that she’s in love. Alice was a sylphid—a winged air spirit—when she spotted Daniel Field camping in the Adirondacks and lost her heart to the handsome NYU student. Intangible to the human senses, her only hope of winning his heart resides in becoming mortal, even though transmutation is forbidden by Paralda, ruler of the air. Risking punishment, however, seems a small price to pay for a chance at true happiness. Tracking down Daniel in New York City ends up being surprisingly easy. Getting noticed by him for all the right reasons is another story, especially when the human world keeps tossing challenges in Alice’s path. Just when she’s mastered zippers and buttons, she catches herself dropping a sugar packet into her coffee and mistaking a photo of John Lennon for one of Daniel’s relatives. Her eccentricities raise the occasional eyebrow with Daniel and his friends, but her quirky charm, sweetness, and sincerity win out. Before long, she lands a job, begins a relationship with Daniel, and starts settling into her new life—until her past comes after her.

My Book Review:

This book is whole heartedly the reason I love self-published authors. I am so happy that I was given the chance to read Thin Air otherwise I would have missed out on a simply amazing book. Thin Air will captured your heart from page one and leave you wanting more by then end of the book. I so read this book in one day - with such a charming story-line and a enchanting romance between a human boy and a air-fairy girl. One choice will lead to two lives being changed forever!!

A young fairy girl, Aeris who lives among the clouds is destined for a beautiful life with her family and friends, but one day will lead to her life being torn in two.  As Aeris comes a pond a young man who is camping in the woods with a woman, who both seem to be in love. Aeris watches them both but is drawn to Daniel, and ultimately begins to fall in love with him although he can not see her. Later Aeris will choose to make a difficult decision which will now change her's and Daniels life's forever. Would you sacrifice your life for the one you love? The decision she makes will begin to push the story forward and lead you into a world where nothing is impossible to a girl who is in LOVE and a boy who will begin to see the world in a whole new light.

If your looking for a truly magical book than Thin Air would be perfect. I adored the character's in the book. Aeris and Daniel were such a delight to read about. As well as the side character's which all have a wonderful sprites about them. There was not a boring moment in the book. I so loved to read about Aeris and Daniels love-story throughout the book. Such a pure, gentle, and unselfish  love which I found to be quite breathtaking. I truly have become a big fan of books with a elemental story-line - and Thin Air is no exception but was amazing in all area's throughout the story. A perfect combo of magic and true love with never a dull moment - It was such a joy for me to read and I believe that all ages would so enjoy this book especially someone who believes in  the power of love!

The author Lynn Seresin has written such a captivating and magical novel. Thin Air will never leave the reader disappointed but will capture your heart.  I was blown away at the ending of Thin Air and so left me wanting to find out what happens next!

 Summary: (from goodreads)
Shaya Solen’s walk home from school takes her past an eerie pond, where one day she finds an old bracelet made of raven feathers. Soon, strange events begin to unfold: a shadowy figure glimpsed across the water, ominous nightmares haunting Shaya, and rumors of a witch who once drowned in the pond. With the discovery of a strange family connection to the witch, Shaya is drawn into a mystery that must be solved before the approaching Halloween, which is the thirteenth anniversary of the witch’s death – and Shaya’s birthday.

My Review: ( I gave this book 3.5 Stars )
I am very happy I was given the opportunity to read White Witch Pond. It was such a fun yet haunting book to read. The story-line was keep my attention and would make a excellent book to read during this Halloween season. The book begins with a young girl named Shaya and her brother Dev. While walking home from school Shaya comes across a old bracelet make from raven feathers. Shaya starts to hear a voice telling her to give back my bracelet. After being scared of the voice she tries to put this behind her and throw the bracelet away only to find out later that Dev somehow got ahold of it and now is hiding the bracelet in his room. One by one more things begin to happen while this odd bracelet is in there home. Dev is now drawing images of the bracelet all over his sketch pad...as well as becoming very mean and crabby towards Shaya. After asking around at school she learns from friends that a young woman died in the pond 13 years ago, and who was supposedly a witch, but who was she?  And could she be the woman who is warning Shaya to give the bracelet back...She will need to find the truth about this witch and soon - In order to save the one's she love.

I found this book to be very well written and has a lot of mystery with every page. It is a short read but very enjoyable. I felt the book could have been a bit longer, just to be able to get into the story a bit more. I would have liked to get to know the character's a bit more. It was lacking in the area of Romance but that's not necessarily a bad thing.  I am just more into a paranormal book that does have a love story. Other than that I really enjoy White Witch Pond. The story was very engaging and would be fun to read around Halloween. I feel like the book would lean more towards the Teen/YA age groups, but just as fun for adult readers. The cover of the book is beautiful and is set very well with the story of the book.  The Author, Jody Kihara has written a very charming and haunting book and I think my blog readers would love - White Witch Pond!

Goodreads Info:

Sixteen year old Channie Kerns leads an idyllic life of seclusion and magic deep in the Ozark Mountains ... until her family is forced to flee for their lives.

They leave everything and everyone behind to start over in Louisville, Colorado. Magic is forbidden while they are in hiding, but Channie can't resist the temptation to enchant a group of local boys. When her overbearing parents catch her flirting with these "sex-crazed, non-magical boys," they slap a chastity spell on her to protect her virtue.

The spell is triggered by lust, so just navigating the halls at school is an ordeal. She can't even touch a boy she's attracted to without blasting him with a jolt of magical energy that feels like a taser attack.

The situation becomes unbearable when Channie falls in love with Josh Abrim, a BMX racer with dangerous secrets of his own. She rebels against her parents and turns to dark and forbidden magic to break the chastity spell ... with disastrous results.

My Thoughts: ( I give this book 4 Stars )

I was given the book, Enchantment by the author Charlotte Abel a few months ago to review and I must say this book was better than I expected. It was beautiful written. The story-line was unique and interesting - holding me attention throughout the book. I loved the flair of magic and romance in the book. Both fit perfectly together. Enchantment is such a captivating book and I was not disappointed when it came to the content in the book and the character's as well. The romance was divine and I loved how Channie and Josh's relationship progressed so well in the book. It was fun to read about how Channie could cast spells and even a curse.
Enchantment is about a young girl who is a witch and so are her family. She soon finds out her family and Channie must move away from there home to start a new life elsewhere because her Father is in huge trouble with a family of Royal dark witches. Her parents decide she should no longer be called by her Witch name, but a new name will be chosen to keep her safe - Chastity!  On the night she moved into her new home she later meets Josh and his friend at a nearby park. Channie decides to test her new magic in hopes that her Enchantment is still within her someplace. She cast a Come-Hither spell which makes Josh kiss her. From there on out her life will be changed  - as well as Josh's.
I won't give any more away, but let me tell you if will be worth reading it to find out more. I found myself tearing up a bit during the book. You can just feel how much romance and love these two have found together. The ending was amazing and such a surprise of what is yet to come. I have really begun to love a lot of self-publishing authors. Just because the author is not published does not mean the book will bad. I have found a lot of wonderful book written by self-published authors - And Charlotte Abel is one of them. Her written style was stunning. Enchantment was such a joy for me to read and I would very much recommend the book to anyone who enjoys books about Witches as well as True Love!

Theme Thursday [RHYMES] - 6#

Theme Thursdays is a fun weekly event that will be open from one Thursday to the next.
Anyone can participate in it. The rules are simple:

  • A theme will be posted each week (on Thursdays)
  • Select a conversation/snippet/sentence from the current book you are reading
  • Mention the author and the title of the book along with your post
  • It is important that the theme is conveyed in the sentence (you don’t necessarily need to have the word)
Ex: If the theme is KISS; your sentence can have “They kissed so gently” or “Their lips touched each other” or “The smooch was so passionate”

This will give us a wonderful opportunity to explore and understand different writing styles and descriptive approaches adopted by authors. Theme Thursdays is hosted by Kavyen

This weeks theme is -

RHYMES (Pick 2 snippets that have rhyming words i.e if one sentence has RAIN the other should have CHAIN or VAIN or SPAIN etc.)

My THURSDAY THEME for RHYMES is from here -

Okay so I recently read Rachel Vincent's newest Novel "If I Die" and I so feel in love with Tod. If you have read this series you know that Tod is a Reaper (one of many) and in the books he has been sweet on Kaylee. If you know Tod you know how adorable, sweet, and funny he is. I so love that he is such a gentlemen. Never made Kaylee do anything she did not want to do. Let me say you won't find many men is this world like Tod. He is such a gentle soul. I knew right away in the book "If I die" that Tod was becoming one my favorite characters. He is the total opposite of his brother Nash. If you read his back-story you may feel so bad for what happen to him - how he died. (I did) When I read this, I was in tears. Tod is so selfless, kind-hearted and lovable. He makes my heart melt. Oh, and his looks aren't bad too. With his blue eyes, and blonde curly locks. But his true beauty is with in his heart and soul. Tod is always wanting to help people out and would (and did) gave his soul to help Kaylee. Such a selfless sacrifice for someone you love so dearly.  If Tod were real I would so love to be his girlfriend.  He has such a passionate, and tender demeanor. With the added plus he always is trying to crack a joke, or make Kaylee laugh and that is such a plus in my book.  I love a guy who can make me laugh. Laughter heals the Soul! So, Yes this weeks Book Boyfriend is Tod Hudson.  My dreamy, adorable, devoted Reaper. Tod Husdon! <3

       Tod Hudson Stats:
I picture Tod looking like this:

  • Curly blonde hair.
  • Baby Blue Eyes.
  • He is a GRIM REAPER
  • He can teleport wherever he wants!
  • He delivers pizza on the side. (YUM!)
  • He's excellent at spying!
  • He's funny and sarcastic. (One of his best feature's)

Here are some Tod quotes from the Soul Screamers Books:

“So, 'reaper' is really just a nice word for 'covert pervert?' Is that what you're saying?”  (Book - Reaper)

“So could we please not mob the three-thousand-plus-year-old reaper like tweens at a boy-band concert?” (Book - My Soul To Save)

“Like I'm going to pass up an opportunity to smack your cousin.”  (Book - My Soul To Keep)

“So,would you say I’m closer to a zombie or a vampire? I gotta know—are my parts going to rot and fall off, or am I forever frozen in youthful perfection?”

“Now if you’ll excuse me, Death waits for no man. Except me.”
