Forced to carry a reminder of the horrible events of her kidnapping, Violet is more determined than ever to lead a normal life. However, the people who run the special investigative team Violet works for have no intention of letting her go.

When someone close to Violet becomes a suspect in a horrific murder, she finds herself pulled into a deadly hunt for a madman with an army of devoted followers. Violet has survived dangerous situations before, but she quickly discovers that protecting those closest to her is far more difficult than protecting herself.

Let me first start out by saying that I have never read anything by author Kimberly Derting. I have had the first three book in the series on my book shelves for sometime now but had yet to read them. So once I heard about this tour I knew it would be a great opportunity to challenge myself to read the complete Body Finder series. After reading them all I just about kicked myself for not starting this series sooner. Yeah...I know was sure missing out on some amazing books. *smacks forehead against wall* Head Bash Smiley

Dead Silence picks up pretty much directly after The last Echo ended. Violet has a very special gift. She can find dead bodies by sensing an imprint they leave behind after they die. She is also able to find who killed them but matching the same imprint or echo to the recently dead.
Only now Violet has a imprint of her own. A music box playing the same haunting tune, over and over again.

If that wasn't enough to drive her a little crazy, Violet is being threatened not to leave the "special team" of gifted kids like herself or else! She wants nothing more than to stop working for them but unless she does, her family and friends will be harmed. With no other choice, Violet continues to help find dead bodies when no one else can in order to put them properly to rest by finding who killed them.

There is a new killer is town, called "The Collector".  If Violet is not careful someone she loves might just be his next victim...

Dead Silence being the final book in the series will definitely leave the readers wanting more but more so being sorry to have to say goodbye to their favorite characters, Violet, Jay, Chelsea, Rafe, and all the other who make the series a whole lot of awesome!!!

Dead Silence for me was the perfect ending to yet another amazing book series. Being the last book in the series I felt that Kimberly Derting did a beautiful job at tying together any loose ends from the first three books. The one part that really made Dead Silence so interesting to me was learning more about Violets ability. The reader gets unique look into where Violet inherited her gift and from whom but more so a deeper understanding at what it really means to carry such a powerful gift.
Also a major plus for me is the super sweet and kind romance between Vi and Jay. The way the author writes them together throughout the series is just so tender and perfect. They are two halves of a whole in every way.

I am so glad I decided to read this series. I have no clue why it took me so long to pick up the books but let me tell you without a doubt "The Body Finders" series is now one of my favorite series and will hold a place in my heart forever. If you have not read these books then you are surely missing out!

Good thing you liked the series since you had the whole thing to read! I'm glad they worked out for you. I'm hoping she'll write a spin off from Rafe's POV, wouldn't that be great?!

  4. This blog hop is neat. Violet is like the character from the 6th Sense where the kid hear dead people. I love reading these kind of things.

Enjoy the first 3 books again, and get ready for the final adventure in Dead Silence. And loved the "This or That". Some of my favorite interview questions!
